Josh Koroma is a wanted man this January, and FLW's Huddersfield Town fan pundit would be happy to let him go.
Huddersfield Town are in a good position in League One, as expected, and that could mean increased interest in their first-team players in the January transfer window.
Following the Terriers' relegation from the Championship, Michael Duff was brought in to revive the club and give them the best chance of promotion from League One this season.
It was far from smooth sailing at the start of the season, but Huddersfield have certainly found their feet in the division now and are serious contenders for promotion.
Now that the mid-season transfer window has arrived, Michael Duff has some big decisions to make regarding his current squad and any potential incomings, including with Josh Koroma.
The Terriers' second-highest goalscorer this season is currently attracting interest from elsewhere, and perhaps it is time to cash in.
According to journalist, Darren Witcoop, via a post on X, Huddersfield could be set for a battle to keep hold of forward Koroma this winter, as League One and Championship clubs keep an eye on him.
No specific club was mentioned by Witcoop, but there will be very few League One sides who have the financial means to pull off a deal for the winger.
Koroma's contract expires this summer, so as things stand, he will be departing on a free transfer in less than six months time.
With that in mind, the club have a huge decision to make in regards to whether they tie him to a new deal as soon as possible, or cash in while the interest is hot, in order to prevent him leaving for nothing.
The 26-year-old has scored five League One goals in 19 appearances this season, despite playing much of it as a wide-left attacking wing-back, so the Terriers would have to find a suitable replacement if he does depart.
Football League World spoke to their Terriers fan pundit, Graeme Rayner, and posed the question of whether Huddersfield should tie Koroma down or cash in on him this January, and Graeme preferred the latter option.
"Do we need to tie Josh Koroma down? No, I don't think so.
"He's been useful this season, but no more than that. He's frustrating and that was highlighted on Saturday when there were a couple of issues, including one really good chance that he dithered with as he often does.
"He is a player that flatters to deceive sometimes, and he has really patchy periods of form. As long as we can replace him, I don't see him being released or sold as an issue.
"He's been used wide left a lot this season, but Mickel Miller is first-choice there when he's fit. We've since signed Ruben Roosken who after suspension, will be first-choice there, I suspect, until Miller is fit. We also have Josh Ruffels available there."
"We need better options up top than he provides when he plays there, so I would happily let him go if we can get £300,000/£400,000 for him, given he's only got six months left on his contract."
"Is he good enough for Championship clubs? No, he's not, in my opinion. He's never really performed there.
"He had one spell of decent form during the Pandemic behind closed doors, where, for about a month, he was very, very good at that level, but other than that, his form has been so hit-and-miss."
