Chelsea are set to headline Saturday’s Premier League action as they take on Manchester United in a mouth-watering grudge match at Old Trafford.
The Blues are looking to bounce back from their crushing 3-1 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League curtain raiser.
Their most recent Premier League fixture also ended in disappointment, with Brentford scoring late to deny the Blues a win in the dramatic 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Chelsea will be hoping to end their abysmal record at Old Trafford this weekend, but Maresca will have to do so with a handful of players on the sidelines.
Chelsea head to Old Trafford without up to six players as Maresca weighs up changes following their midweek Champions League defeat.
Romeo Lavia and Benoit Badiashile are edging closer to fitness, but the trip to Manchester is expected to come too soon for the pair, while Levi Colwill, Liam Delap and Dario Essugo are long-term absentees.
Reece James could return to right back against United, with Malo Gusto dropping to the bench.
Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Cucurella are all in contention to complete the backline in front of goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
In midfield, Enzo Fernandez should partner Moises Caicedo at the base of midfield, freeing up Cole Palmer to operate further forward in the number 10 position.
Pedro Neto should return to the right flank, with Alejandro Garnacho set to make his full debut against his former employers.
Up front, Joao Pedro looks set to lead the line. The Brazilian has been Chelsea’s most productive attacker this season, with two goals and three assists in the Premier League.
He also loves a goal against United, having scored three times in five games against the Red Devils.
