Corinthians were knocked out by Estudiantes of Argentina in the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals on Wednesday night at Neo Química Arena.

As reported by Meu Timao, it was the club’s second-biggest home crowd of 2026. There were 47,026 paying supporters, with only the late August Clássico Alvinegro, a 1-0 defeat, surpassing it at 47,099.

The third-highest attendance this year came less than a month earlier, a 1-0 win over Rosario Central in the last 16, which drew 46,552.

For the Estudiantes match, the club received a one-off authorisation to sell extra tickets in the South Stand, where seats were removed during the World Cup break.

The result ends Corinthians’ campaign. They have lifted the trophy only once, in 2012, and have not reached a semi-final since.

Corinthians host Fluminense on Sunday at 16:00 in the 28th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, their final outing before the FIFA break.
