Mohamed Salah’s trophy-laden Liverpool career will come to an end at Anfield on Sunday.

The Egypt international is the Premier League’s fourth-highest goalscorer of all time, behind only Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney, with 193.

He won the Premier League Golden Boot a record-equalling four times alongside Thierry Henry and has scored 257 in 441 Liverpool appearances in all competitions.

Here the Press Association takes a look a five of his best goals.

Manchester City, October 2021

It is not only the quality of the goal but the quality of opposition it is scored against. Receiving the ball with his back to goal just outside the penalty area, Salah held off and turned Joao Cancelo, dragged it past Bernardo Silva, leaving the midfielder on his backside, feigned to cut inside before checking back to wrong-foot Aymeric Laporte and then drilled a rare right-footed finish across Ederson, off the far post and in.

Chelsea, April 2019

Virgil van Dijk’s long crossfield ball was killed dead by Salah’s first touch, two further touches – one with the outside of his left foot, the other with his right – saw him glide past Emerson to create some space and with Jorginho closing him down he unleashed an arrow-straight left-footed strike into the top corner from 25 yards.

Arsenal, August 2017

A classic example of the threat Salah posed on the break. The ball was cleared from an Arsenal corner and the Egyptian quickly closed down Hector Bellerin, nodding the ball past the defender’s attempted high-footed clearance. With two-thirds of the pitch to run into Salah raced clear, pursued in vain by Bellerin and Francis Coquelin, to slot past Petr Cech.

Manchester United, January 2020

A goal memorable for its symbolism as much as Salah’s quality. Alisson Becker’s long kick after claiming a United corner picked out Salah on his own on the halfway line, with the visitors all upfield looking for an equaliser. As he advanced into United’s half Dan James sprinted back but Salah held him off to slot past David de Gea. Amazingly Alisson was the first on the spot to congratulate his team-mate as the Kop broke into a chorus of “We’re going to win the league”.

RB Salzburg, December 2019

Perhaps not one of Salah’s most spectacular goals but one of his most precise. Jordan Henderson’s ball into the inside-left channel posed a problem for Jerome Onguene who, under pressure from the Liverpool forward, could only tamely head the ball back towards his own penalty area. Goalkeeper Cican Stankovic inadvisedly came to the corner of his box only for Salah to knock it past him, leaving himself with an insanely tight angle four yards from the byline on his weaker right foot. Somehow, while still at full pelt, he rolled a shot which almost brushed the near post before nestling in the side-netting at the far post. “Sensational,” said Jurgen Klopp.
