5️⃣ spicy fixtures you must watch this weekend 🌶

Leeds vs Sheffield United

The Championship’s promotion race is heating up and Monday night will see the top two go head-to-head at Elland Road. Leeds saw off Sunderland in thrilling fashion last week, as a 95th-minute winner from Pascal Struijk sealed a vital three points.

Daniel Farke’s in-form side have opened up a seven-point gap to third-place Burnley, ahead of facing a Sheffield United side seeking an eighth win in nine. The victors will end the weekend top of the league, while the losers could get sucked back into the play-off picture.

Aston Villa vs Chelsea

Two sides whose top-four hopes have hit the skids do battle on Saturday evening.

Chelsea have won just two of their last nine in the Premier League, while Villa are searching for a first league win since January 15.

Unai Emery’s Villa side have struggled for consistency in the Premier League as the club juggle Champions League commitments and can not afford to fall further behind.

Bayern vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern Munich weathered a storm to earn a goalless point at Bayer Leverkusen last week, a result that retained their eight-point lead in the Bundesliga title race. Next up is a date with third-place Eintracht Frankfurt, who are targeting Champions League football.

The first meeting between the sides this season ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw and entertainment could again be on the cards. Despite losing Omar Marmoush in January, Frankfurt are unbeaten in seven Bundesliga games with Hugo Ekitike having picked up the slack.

The French forward has five goals in his last six games.

Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest

Newcastle and Nottingham Forest meet this weekend looking to get their Champions League pursuits back on track.

Setbacks for both teams last weekend has raised the stakes for this one, with plenty of sub-plots to add to the intrigue.

Chris Wood was never truly appreciated during a tough spell on Tyneside, but has been a revelation since signing for Forest. He has 18 goals and counting in the Premier League this season – one more than resident St James’ sharpshooter Alexander Isak.

Manchester City vs Liverpool

The defining Premier League rivalry of the last decade resumes on Sunday.

Manchester City’s four-year grip on the Premier League title is loosening with Liverpool leading from the front.

The Merseysiders are the only team to stop City from winning the league since 2018 and are out for glory again this season. However, consecutive league draws and a shock FA Cup exit have seen previously unseen cracks emerge in Arne Slot’s machine.

Whether a fragile Manchester City side can take advantage of those remains to be seen.
