With Italy absent, 64 Italian-based players remain at the 2026 World Cup as the knockouts begin, and Croatia lead the way. According to Football Italia, the round of 32 features more Croatia representatives from Serie A or Serie B than any other nation.

Croatia have seven, namely Inter’s Petar Sucic, Milan’s Luka Modric, Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic, Bologna’s Nikola Moro, Torino’s Nikola Vlasic, Fiorentina’s Marin Pongracic and Como’s Martin Baturina.

Belgium and Norway each have five. Belgium’s group is headlined by the Napoli duo of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, while Norway’s Leo Ostigard was the first Serie A player to score at this World Cup.

France, the Netherlands and Switzerland have four apiece. France, featuring Marcus Thuram, Adrien Rabiot, Mike Maignan and Manu Kone, are among the favourites, though a potential quarter-final could bring the Dutch, with Donyell Malen, Denzel Dumfries and Teun Koopmeiners, into their path. Switzerland also count four, including Manuel Akanji and Remo Freuler.

Elsewhere, Portugal include Rafael Leao and Francisco Conceicao, the United States have Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic, and Brazil list Ederson and Bremer. Argentina’s Nico Paz and Lautaro Martinez are through, as are Canada duo Ismael Kone and Jonathan David. Germany, Spain and England have no Serie A representatives left, so who will you be supporting?
