Some previously injured FC Barcelona players made their returns to the pitch last night as the Blaugranes hosted their regional rivals Girona, and had to put up a very spirited fight to get all three points.
One such player who got on the pitch after a while was the winger Lamine Yamal, who played around one hour before being subbed off. Furthermore, the midfielder Fermin Lopez was also introduced into the game at half-time, replacing Toni Fernandez.
Fermin had quite a good outing in this game, and the way he played, it was clear that he has gotten over the physical problem that had kept him away from the pitch in the last few games.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard also talked to the media after the match, and expressed his satisfaction with getting a win in such difficult circumstances. Talking about this win, the midfielder said:
“This is also how you win games. It was a very tough match, and I think we also missed many chances. The first half was good, but we fought until the end and scored thanks to the substitutions.”
Fermin also highlighted that some important players were still missing for this game:
“We have many injuries, many important players have just come back, and some are still out. I think the second half was a bit more chaotic, but I believe we also deserved the victory, and we achieved it.”
Regarding his own sensations, he said that he was “a bit tired, but fine, with good feelings.”
Fermin Lopez has always played particularly well against Real Madrid, and thus, he has come back from his injury at the best time. Hopefully, he will be able to get back to his best level ahead of El Clásico and help Barcelona get a win in this match.
