A DISAPPOINTING START FOR MODRIĆ, DRAW FOR RAFA | OneFootball

Croatia's World Cup campaign got off to a disappointing start after a difficult game against England. The English won 4-2, with the game decided in the second half after an exciting first half ended 2-2. Starting as captain, Luka Modrić made his first appearance of his fifth World Cup, before making way for Kovačić in the 58th minute. Next, the Croatians face Panama, on Wednesday 24 June. 

Portugal and Rafa Leão kicked off their World Cup with a 1-1 draw against DR Congo. Rafa came on in the 70th minute but was unable to make a difference. The Portuguese will look to bounce back on Tuesday 23 June against Uzbekistan.
