The international break is boring our socks off – but there are always some fun moments to enjoy.
In this case, for us it’s Estevao Willian getting more minutes with Brazil. He bagged a brace for his country on Friday morning, continuing his insane rise to the top of the game.
Estevao Willian scores for Brazil.
On the London is Blue podcast today, they discussed the 18 year old’s latest sensation appearance for his country. Fresh from scoring the winner against Liverpool, he went one better for his country.
“For Brazil against South Korea, a phenomenal brace,” said presenter Dan Dormer.
“I did like the first one. I generally don’t love Bruno Guimaraes too much, but that was a really good pass. That was a really good pass from him and the run was really well timed. So Estevao is putting himself in a position where he could be a really big player for this Brazil team at the World Cup.”
“He’s just a joy, man,” said co-presenter Nick Verlaney.
“Just being able to go out there and play freely without having to overthink it.”
You can see them discussing the wonderkid in the clip embedded here:
It’s so true. As a Chelsea fan especially, the actual football can get so lost in other things. You spend so much time talking about ownership, financial fair play, stadium moves, shirt sponsors, amortisation and all sorts of other nonsense so much that you forget the simple joy of watching a teenage phenomenon with the ball at his feet.
That’s what it’s all about really, and that’s what Estevao can bring to us all.
Why on earth does Dan Dormer not like Bruno Guimaraes, though?
