It happens every season that Erling Haaland is linked with a move away from Manchester City. Typically, Barcelona or Real Madrid are named as potential destinations for the world’s best striker. This occurred in March as Erling Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, dismissed claims that Barcelona were attempting to lay the groundwork to one day sign Haaland from City. More recently, Haaland expressed that he is solely focused on the future at Manchester City. Now, Rafaela Pimenta previously shared how well life is going for Erling Haaland at City. There is no chance of the Norwegian international leaving City anytime soon, which is perhaps the least surprising news of all.
In a previous interview with ESPN, Erling Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, dismissed any chance of Haaland departing Manchester City in the near future. She explained: “Everything is going very well for him and we really have nothing to discuss about a transfer when everything is so good at City.”
Now, Rafaela Pimenta has also elaborated on how dedicated Erling Haaland is to his craft in a new interview with ESPN. The super agent added that Haaland is also highly intelligent with the way he approaches his career. Pimenta explained: “He’s a lot like us [football agents]. In his way of being — it’s very informal, very comfortable, very relaxed, very low profile … Football, for him, is the most serious game you can play.”
“I think people often have the impression that the football player’s job is easier than it actually is. I often say that high-performance football players have to be very intelligent, so don’t underestimate the intelligence of those at the top of the pyramid. He has to be very dedicated.”
Rafaela Pimenta’s comments about Erling Haaland’s dedication and outlook on football aren’t ground breaking revelations. Haaland has always been dedicated to maximising his talent. On top of his talent, Haaland’s dedication and outlook play are key attributes of his game. At Manchester City, Haaland, and his teammates are in the ideal environment to thrive.
Manchester City are an elite club in all facets of their operation. In a recent interview with AS, former City defender Aymeric Laporte explained that he regretted leaving City. Laporte explained: “I regretted leaving because I was at the best club in the world, Manchester City. The way they take care of their players there is unique; you only realize it when you leave. When you arrive, it’s impressive, and then once you get used to it, you see it as something commonplace, something normal.”
“When you leave and you’re no longer experiencing that special routine they have there, you realize how lucky you are to have been at a great club like City, and like I said, for me it was an unforgettable experience. I’m truly grateful to the club. I can’t say anything bad because it was one of the best things ever.”
Aymeric Laporte’s comments show the environment that Manchester City has created for players to thrive in. This, coupled with Erling Haaland’s drive and dedication, almost makes it the perfect pairing. There is little reason for Haaland to explore a move elsewhere, given everything in place for him to succeed at City.
It wouldn’t be a summer or winter transfer window without the obligatory links of Erling Haaland moving to Spain. However, those links have already been dispelled by Haaland himself and his agent, Rafaela Pimenta. The Norwegian international is in the ideal environment for him, one that complements his dedication to football. There is basically no chance of Manchester City losing Erling Haaland anytime soon, so this summer should be quiet on that particular front.
