Bruno Guimaraes wasn’t at the Emirates on Tuesday night as Newcastle United deservedly won 2-0 against Arsenal.
Eddie Howe’s team taking a huge step towards potentially returning to Wembley, only 25 months after the 2023 League Cup final.
Bruno Guimaraes picked up a second yellow card in the competition against Brentford in the quarter-final, meaning he was suspended for this Arsenal 0 Newcastle 2 match. Fabian Schar also having to miss it for the same reason.
Despite missing such influential players, Newcastle well worth the win.
Great goals from Isak and Gordon, whilst superb defending from all the players throughout.
For some bizarre reason, some Newcastle United fans had wanted to blame Bruno Guimaraes becoming captain, as the reason for up and down form and performances earlier this season.
However, for me he is the ideal captain, never gives less than 100 percent and his passion is there for all to see, inspiring all of those around him.
Whilst he couldn’t play last night, Bruno Guimaraes was there in spirit for sure.
Just watch this clip of Bruno and his son celebrating at the final whistle.
Bruno Guimaraes – What a player, what a joy.
