Aarón Escandell agrees new Real Oviedo contract to 2029 | OneFootball

Aarón Escandell has agreed a new Real Oviedo contract running to 30 June 2029, ending uncertainty over his future.

Escandell said he was very grateful for the club’s faith, had no doubt about staying for many years, and wants to help make history at Oviedo.

He chose to remain at Oviedo ahead of interest from other Spanish and international clubs, including an offer from Arabia that would have multiplied his salary.

The Valencian goalkeeper arrived in summer 2024 and impressed from the outset. An outstanding 2024/25 campaign proved decisive in Real Oviedo’s historic promotion to Primera División, built on decisive interventions and composure.

He then maintained a high level in the top flight last season, reaffirming himself as one of the most notable goalkeepers. With this renewal, Oviedo secure the continuity of a fans’ favourite who will continue to guard their goal in the coming seasons.
