Ouaddou speaks on Moremi qualities

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has given a detailed breakdown of Tshepang Moremi's qualities.

The speedy winger was influential in the Buccaneers' massive Soweto derby victory over Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, as he broke the deadlock just four minutes from the first whistle, before providing an assist for the third goal.

With his contribution, Moremi took his tally to nine goals and three assists in 29 matches across all competitions since joining from AmaZulu FC at the beginning of the ongoing campaign.

Ouaddou was pleased with the player's performance, and hit out at the keyboard warriors for somewhat criticizing his positioning of Moremi on the field.

“He's a really good player, really interesting player with a lot of qualities. The problem of the modern football [is that] we have many coaches, everybody wants to be a coach. In the social media there are coaches, in the stands there are coaches, they want the player to play the way that they want,” said the Bucs mentor.

"But as a tactician, as coaches, we have eyes to analyse the quality of the player and when you see that his main quality is speed - we have to use this main quality and to create the right environment and to put him in the right position to exploit his qualities.

The former Morocco international delved deep into dissecting the 25-year-old's qualities that make him different from the other technically gifted players.

“But when people are watching too much Manchester City, they're watching Barcelona, they're watching all these big teams, and they want to put our players in the same position, but they want to see him performing like these players from Barcelona, from Manchester City - this guy is a winger,” Ouaddou explained.

"As a winger you have to use the pace, the speed, the crosses, the shooting, of course, with the capacity to combine in the half spaces. But he cannot all the time be in the half space, it's very difficult. To be in the half space you need to have these qualities of [Mohau] Nkota, of [Relebohile] Mofokeng, of [Oswin] Appollis, but he has different qualities.

"He's a top player but he's different, it's why today [Saturday] we really used him with his high qualities and you can see it that all the time we use him as a winger he can suprise many people. And I think it's these qualities that give him the opportunity to reach the national team.
