Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has revealed his stance on the possibility of promoting the club's Dstv Diski Challenge [DDC] striker Joy Manana.
The Soweto giants have been left thin in the frontline as Evidence Makgopa missed the last two matches through injury, leaving Yanela Mbuthuma and Boitumelo Radiopane as the only no.9 options.
Meanwhile, Manana is enjoying a stellar campaign in the reserve league, having netted eight goals to become the top scorer for the table-topping Buccaneers.
When quizzed on whether the striker shortage presents a perfect window to call upon the starlet, Ouaddou didn't shut the door, but insists he has enough options at the moment.
“Why not? We are very close to the DDC, to the coaches, you know that in my staff I have Roscoe [Krieling] and Mxolisi [Mngomezulu]. We are working closely with each other, so we have many information from the DDC [about] the guys who are doing well,” said the Bucs mentor.
"So, you can be sure that if we need them and if we are short, I think it can be interesting, but for now I think we are okay. We have the numbers, players who are able to play in that position, so for now we are okay.
Pirates will swing back to action with a Betway Premiership clash against fierce rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the famed Soweto derby on Saturday, 28 February.
