Former Côte d'Ivoire international Abdoulaye Traoré, 59, has been sentenced to three years in prison for rape.
According to L'Équipe, the court in Bouaké, in central Côte d'Ivoire, delivered the sentence on Wednesday.
His punishment also includes payment of 15 million CFA francs, about €23,000, to the victim, 10 years without civic rights and a five-year ban from entering Bouaké.
Nicknamed "Ben Badi", the ex-ASEC Mimosas and Côte d'Ivoire striker won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1992 and also played in Europe, including at FC Metz in 1986-87.
