Abdourahmane Mbodji will join Metz next season, with the Génération Foot striker, 18, set to begin his European career there.

According to L'Équipe, he was courted by clubs in France and abroad before opting for Metz. He is due to start pre-season with the professional squad.

Metz, returning to Ligue 2 in August, are still awaiting clarity on Amara Diouf, with a decision anticipated on seven June, his 18th birthday.

A mobile forward who turned 18 on 22 April, Mbodji is the top scorer for the Génération Foot academy in the Senegalese Championship this season, with 11 goals in 25 matches.

He featured at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations with his country in April 2025, drawing interest across Europe in recent months. OM and Lille tracked him closely, as did Galatasaray and the German club from Francfort, but his immediate future lies with Metz, where he will probably have a role from the start in Ligue 2.
