Abel Ferreira will resume touchline duties for Palmeiras after serving a suspension, returning to availability across the club's three competitions.
According to Nosso Palestra, his comeback coincides with the second leg against Jacuipense in the Copa do Brasil first phase at Estádio do Café in Londrina. Palmeiras hold a 3-0 lead from the first meeting at Allianz Parque, secured by two goals from Ramon Sosa and one from Felipe Anderson.
Ferreira was sidelined following expulsions in matches against São Paulo and Fluminense in the Campeonato Brasileiro. Judged by the STJD, he received the maximum penalty and a request for a suspensive effect was denied, a decision that prompted strong dissatisfaction within Palmeiras.
At the time, club directors and coaching staff deemed the sanction excessive, with assistants declining to give post-match press conferences on some occasions. Even while barred from the technical area on matchdays, Ferreira remained involved in the team's preparation and closely monitored the staff's work.
With the ban now served, the Portuguese coach returns at a significant point in the campaign, as Palmeiras continue in the Campeonato Brasileiro, Copa do Brasil and Libertadores.
