Aston Villa’s Europa League success in Istanbul marked a landmark moment in Tammy Abraham’s career, with the striker becoming only the second player ever to win every major UEFA club competition.

Villa eased to a 3-0 victory over Freiburg in the final, and while Abraham did not get on the pitch, the triumph still completed an extraordinary European collection for the England forward.

The 28-year-old first tasted continental success with Chelsea, winning both the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup in 2021. A year later, he played a key role in Roma’s Europa Conference League-winning campaign under José Mourinho.

Following his mid-season arrival from Besiktas, Abraham added the Europa League to that list as Unai Emery’s side lifted the trophy in dominant fashion.

It means Abraham has now collected medals in all four of UEFA’s current club competitions - a feat achieved by just one other player before him, former Chelsea colleague Emerson Palmieri.
