AC Milan ready to table €30 million bid for Barcelona defender – report | OneFootball

AC Milan are making a serious move to strengthen their backline before the transfer window closes.

In fact, according to reports from Fichajes, it has come to light that the Italian giants have set their sights on Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen and are prepared to put €30 million on the table to secure his signing.

Barcelona’s financial problems are no secret. The club has been forced to consider selling key players in order to balance the books and register their current squad with La Liga.

While Christensen has been a vital figure, even more after Inigo Martinez’s exit, the board would be open to letting him go if the right offer arrives.

For the Catalan side, a sale of this scale could ease pressure and allow them to register players who are still pending league approval.

Milan are serious about their pursuit

At Milan, the need for a reliable defender is clear. Serie A is becoming tougher every season, and the Rossoneri are determined to compete strongly both domestically and in the Champions League.

Christensen brings qualities that Milan values highly – calmness under pressure, clean distribution from the back, and plenty of experience at the top level in Europe.

Reports suggest that Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri is convinced the Danish international would be a key addition.

The belief is that Christensen could provide the leadership and consistency required to stabilise the defence.

Journalist Pietro Balzano also pointed out that Milan see this as a rare opportunity to bring in a top-class centre-back for a fair fee.

As such, the next few days could prove crucial. If the official €30 million bid is submitted and accepted, Christensen might soon swap the Camp Nou for San Siro.

For Barcelona, it would mean a painful but necessary exit, while for Milan, it could mark the arrival of a player who can immediately raise their defensive standards.
