AC Milan winger Rafael Leao was offered to Leeds United, according to transfer reporter Ben Jacobs.

However, the cost involved means Leeds are unlikely to be able to get a deal over the line.

The Milan star has also been offered to plenty of clubs in England and across Europe as his time in Italy appears to be nearing its end.

“Rafa Leao was actually offered, believe it or not, to Leeds United along with Manchester United and Arsenal,” Jacobs recently said on talkSPORT.

“The magnitude of the deal, the finances, the appetite and all of that, it doesn’t appear that anything is going to advance. My expectation at the moment is Leao might end up in Turkey.

“But there was basically a ring-around from Leao’s agency to several Premier League clubs, and Leeds were one of them.”

The versatile forward has been described as ‘one of the best wingers‘ on the planet, with 80 goals and 65 assists to his name across the last seven seasons since he joined Milan.

Leeds have already signed Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo in a £34 million deal, while Harry Wilson has joined from Fulham for free

Manager Daniel Farke would have been gutted to miss out on German attacker Julian Brandt after his agent and father visited Thorp Arch for talks last month.
