Achraf Hakimi rested for PSG’s clash with Nantes | OneFootball

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Achraf Hakimi (26) has been rested by Luis Enrique for PSG’s upcoming clash with Nantes. The Moroccan defender has been left out of Les Parisiens’ squad for the rescheduled match against Les Canaris as the Spaniard continues to manage his squad’s workload.

Fans would’ve presumed that there would be a reason behind the former Barcelona manager leaving out one of his best players. However, Hawkins understands that the 26-year-old is not injured and that there are no issues between coach and player; the sole reason for his absence is to allow the defender to rest and recuperate with more important matches on the horizon.

PSG have already secured the Ligue 1 title, and the Nantes match holds relatively less importance compared to their remaining matches in the Coupe de France and UEFA Champions League. The Ligue 1 champions are set to face Arsenal in the semi-finals of the Champions League and Reims in the Coupe de France final.
