Adam Lallana has announced his retirement from football at the age of 37.
"As I call time on my playing career, I do so with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride," the former England international said on social media.
"Southampton the place where it all started, and fittingly where it ends. It's the club I ultimately owe everything to."
Lallana began his career with the Saints before making a £25 million move to Liverpool in 2014. After 178 appearances for the Reds which included earning a Premier League and Champions League medal, the midfielder moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2020 where he made 104 appearances for the club.
Following his stint with the Seagulls, Lallana returned to former club Southampton for the 2024/25 season with his last game coming against former club Liverpool back in March.
In total, Lallana played 569 senior club appearances, scoring 86 goals, and earned 34 caps for his country.
