Adam Murray has left Kidderminster Harriers only days after guiding the club to promotion.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 44-year-old former Albion assistant is poised to join Barrow after they triggered a clause in his contract at Aggborough.
Murray secured promotion in his first season via the National League North play-offs, beating South Shields 2-0 in Saturday’s final.
Harriers must now appoint a successor as they return to the National League Premier. Barrow will also be in that division after relegation from League Two.
Chairman Richard Lane praised Murray’s honesty and acknowledged that, one year into a two-year deal, the overall financial package elsewhere created an opportunity he felt unable to refuse. He accepted the timing was unfortunate after such a strong finish.
Lane said the club’s focus shifts to making a swift managerial appointment to lead the next chapter following promotion, while urging supporters and sponsors to savour the season’s achievements.
It is the second successive year Harriers have faced a managerial change, after Phil Brown was sacked 12 months ago for failing to win promotion.
