Adidas could bring Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal together for a special project in 2027, as per Footy Headlines.
The German sportswear giant is reportedly planning a campaign that would link its greatest football star of the modern era with one of the game’s most exciting young players.
Messi’s long association with Adidas is entering its final stage, as the Argentine has already retired from international football, while his eventual decision on his club career could mean that 2027 is among the last years in which he receives dedicated signature boots from the brand.
Now, at the other end of the spectrum is Yamal, whose rise has been remarkably quick.
The Barcelona forward has already established himself as one of Adidas’ key young footballers.

Yamal has received multiple signature editions of the F50 speed boot, which shows his growing status with the brand.
Furthermore, his profile on the pitch, combined with his age and worldwide popularity, makes him a natural candidate to become the face of Adidas’ next generation of football marketing.
The 2027 project would therefore bring together two players at very different stages of their careers and would represent ‘a historic passing of the torch.’
Messi would represent the end of an extraordinary chapter for Adidas, while Yamal would be positioned at the beginning of what the company hopes will become another long-term relationship with a global football star.

Footy Headlines expects Adidas to connect Messi and Yamal through a special collection in 2027.
For Barcelona fans, the link would carry an emotional connection given Messi’s legendary status at the club and Yamal’s emergence from La Masia.
The exact design, release date, and products involved have not been confirmed, but the reported plan points towards a Messi x Yamal Adidas collection.
If it happens, the project would offer Adidas a clear way to mark the changing of the guard: Messi approaching the end of his playing career while Yamal takes on an increasingly prominent role in the brand’s football plans.
