An administrative mix-up over Kelvin Amian’s cautions has left Nantes facing the prospect of being without the defender for the next two fixtures, against Le Havre and Lille. The club are not at fault in the episode.

According to L'Équipe, a bug in the yellow-card tally stems from the Coupe de France tie with Nice, when Amian committed a foul but Dehmaine Tabibou was recorded as booked. Despite repeated approaches by Nantes’ team manager to the match officials, the sheet was not corrected, and days later the authorities confirmed the caution belonged to Tabibou.

On Friday, the LFP disciplinary commission, having realised the booking should have been Amian’s, said the full-back is suspended for one match. For clarity, the fifth yellow on his record dates from the Lyon game. In an ideal scenario he would have served that ban against Le Havre on Sunday 22 February, yet the decision states it takes effect from Wednesday 25 February 2026.

There have been indications Le Havre are considering lodging a protest should Amian feature on Sunday. Nantes are wary of triggering a dispute, even if they believe the risk of losing it is low.

With the ban active from Wednesday, he is certain to miss Lille on the first of March, and Nantes could end up without him for two matches instead of one.
