AFA gives Boca five days to answer Vélez protest over Copa Argentina | OneFootball

The Argentine FA’s Disciplinary Tribunal has formally registered Vélez Sarsfield’s complaint over Boca Juniors’ Copa Argentina tie and ordered Boca to take notice and respond within five days, citing article 36 of the disciplinary code.

The dispute follows Vélez’s elimination on penalties in the last 16.

On Saturday, Vélez said it had filed the claim, alleging Boca listed six foreign players on the match sheet, above the permitted five.

The Liniers club is seeking Boca’s expulsion from the competition and to take their place in the quarter-finals.

In the same Official Bulletin, the tribunal recorded a precedent not favourable to Vélez, after Lanús protested that Belgrano made six substitutions in a women’s match. The AFA kept the 3-1 result for Belgrano and instead imposed a financial penalty.
