Bournemouth are actively negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen for the signing of Amine Adli, according to a report from The Athletic. The 25-year-old Morocco international could become the club’s fourth senior addition of the summer as the Cherries aim to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.
Adli, who joined Leverkusen from Toulouse in 2021, has been a consistent performer in Germany. His standout campaign came in 2023-24 when he helped Leverkusen secure a remarkable domestic double, winning both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal, while also reaching the Europa League final. That year, he delivered a career-best return of 10 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.

Adli’s footballing roots lie in France, where he progressed through the ranks at Toulouse before making the switch to Germany. While he represented France at youth level up to the under-21s, the forward later committed his senior international future to Morocco, earning 15 caps so far.
Injuries have recently hampered his progress. Last season he suffered a broken leg which ruled him out for three months, limiting him to just six Bundesliga starts. Despite that setback, his versatility across the forward line and track record in one of Europe’s top leagues make him a highly attractive proposition for Bournemouth.
The Cherries have already been active in the market this summer. Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has joined from Chelsea, left-back Adrien Truffert has arrived from Rennes, and centre-back Bafode Diakite was unveiled on Wednesday following his move from Lille. Adding Adli to that list would further underline the club’s ambition to strengthen in all areas of the pitch.
One source told The Athletic: “Bournemouth are looking to add players who can immediately impact their starting XI, and Adli’s ability to play across multiple positions fits that brief perfectly.”
Adli’s game blends technical skill, intelligent movement and an ability to contribute both goals and assists. His experience of winning trophies and competing in European finals adds a layer of mentality that could prove invaluable in the Premier League. Bournemouth’s attack already features pace and directness, and Adli’s adaptability could provide head coach Andoni Iraola with greater tactical flexibility.
Given the Cherries’ upward trajectory and evident willingness to invest in quality, this potential signing could be one of the most intriguing moves of the summer window.
As a Bournemouth supporter, the idea of bringing in Amine Adli is nothing short of thrilling. This is a player who has shown he can shine on the big stage, having been part of a Leverkusen team that dominated in Germany and pushed deep into Europe. For us fans, the thought of adding someone with that pedigree to our squad feels like a statement.
What stands out most is his versatility. He can operate on either wing, play centrally, and adapt to the flow of a match. That kind of flexibility is exactly what we have been missing at times, especially when injuries or tactical changes forced square pegs into round holes last season.
Adli’s numbers in 2023-24 speak for themselves, but it is not just the goals that excite me. It is the work rate, the ability to create space for others, and his knack for turning a half-chance into something dangerous. Even with his injury last year, you cannot doubt the quality he brings.
If this deal happens, it sends a message that Bournemouth are not here to simply survive in the Premier League, we are building to compete. For me, this is exactly the sort of ambition that gets the Vitality Stadium buzzing.
