After another goal, Andreas Schjelderup could earn new status at Benfica | OneFootball

Andreas Schjelderup is enjoying a sustained upturn at Benfica and, after another goal, could be set for a new status. He was close to leaving the Luz in January.

Record writes today on the winger's form. His scoring run began in August with a goal in the win over Nice.

He later delivered the winner against Alverca, then hit a brace against Real Madrid that secured the playoff for Benfica. Most recently he scored in the 2-1 victory at Gil Vicente in Barcelos.

This is his best Benfica season for goals, already surpassing the five he managed in 2024/25. He has also cemented a starting place in José Mourinho's side as the team maintain an unbeaten league record, the only top-flight side yet to lose.

Valued at €14 million, Schjelderup has made 33 appearances this season, 18 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 1,763 minutes he has six goals and three assists.
