After Doekhi, Lazio ‘to launch’ fresh push for top defensive target | OneFootball

Lazio may have secured Danilho Doekhi, but they remain intent on adding Sergi Dominguez as their defensive rebuild gathers pace.

According to The Laziali, the club plan two centre-back arrivals after Mario Gila joined AC Milan last week and Alessio Romagnoli confirmed he is leaving ahead of a move to Al-Sadd.

Despite that, sporting director Angelo Fabiani is pursuing Dominguez. He returned from Croatia without a deal after proposing to Dinamo Zagreb a loan at €three million with an €eight point five million obligation to buy, and is expected to try again.

A renewed attempt is planned in the coming days, with Dinamo holding out for €15 million. Lazio believe they can satisfy the valuation.

The 21-year-old came through Barcelona’s academy, moving to Dinamo last summer with the Catalans retaining a 20% sell-on fee.

Dominguez impressed in his debut campaign, helping a domestic double and contributing two goals and four assists.
