After Lucas Veríssimo's return to Santos, Gabriel Pires joins Mirassol | OneFootball

Gabriel Pires has completed a move to Mirassol in the final stretch of the Brazilian transfer window. The former Benfica midfielder arrives after impressing in the state championships.

The club said in a post that the 32-year-old, a standout in the 2026 Paulistão with Portuguesa, joins to help drive campaigns in the Brasileirão, the Copa do Brasil and the CONMEBOL Libertadores.

Pires represented Benfica from 2018 to 2021. He will link up with former Porto forward Tiquinho Soares at the São Paulo club.

His arrival comes with Mirassol competing on several fronts in 2026, with experience seen as a key asset for the season ahead.

On deadline day, Santos confirmed the return of Lucas Veríssimo, 30, the centre-back who played for Benfica between 2021 and 2023, after a spell at Al Wakrah in Qatar.
