The Merseyside club are set to go through major changes after a disappointing season which would see them finish without a trophy.

After winning the league last season and spending heavily in the summer transfer window on new signings, they were expected to continue their success under Arne Slot but nothing went their way this season.

Now, another player is reportedly open to leaving the club after a successful time at Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Jones ready to leave the club

According to talkSPORT, academy graduate Curtis Jones is seriously weighing up his future at his boyhood club.

Frustrated by his current squad status and desperate for regular minutes, the 25-year-old midfielder has naturally drawn some massive attention.

With Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Inter Milan all actively circling, this summer could mark the end of an era for the local lad.

To understand why Jones is eyeing the exit door, you just have to look at the numbers.

Despite being a crucial, versatile utility man for manager Arne Slot, he even brilliantly filled in at right-back during the dramatic 100th-minute Merseyside derby win over Everton recently, his actual starting opportunities have been incredibly slim.

Jones has managed just 13 Premier League starts this term, despite racking up over 40 appearances across all competitions.

The harsh reality is that Liverpool’s engine room is completely stacked right now. He currently finds himself stranded behind massive names like Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and recent addition Florian Wirtz.

Jones is about to enter the final 12 months of his current contract. If Liverpool don’t want to lose him for free in 2027, they either need to hand him a bumper new deal or cash in immediately.

Reds midfielder will not be short of options this summer

If he does decide to pack his bags, he certainly won’t be short of elite options.

Inter Milan are long-term admirers; the Serie A giants actually made a serious push to sign him back in the January transfer window before Liverpool management firmly pulled the plug on the deal late in the day.

Meanwhile, high-flying Aston Villa have him firmly on their summer wishlist as they look to bolster their midfield ranks.

Then there is Tottenham Hotspur, who are also reportedly very keen. However, Spurs’ pursuit comes with a massive condition, their interest is entirely contingent on them managing to survive their current, shocking relegation battle and successfully securing their top-flight status.
