Arsenal Fans Shocked as Alexander-Arnold Gets Booed

Liverpool Crowd Turns on One of Their Own

So there we were, in Nairobi of all places, watching Arsenal claw their way back to a 2-2 draw at Anfield. It was dramatic, it was gritty, but the real jaw-dropper didn’t come from the pitch—it came from the stands. Yes, Arsenal fans couldn’t quite believe their eyes (and ears) when Liverpool supporters booed Trent Alexander-Arnold. Booed. Their own lad. The one who’s lifted the Premier League and the Champions League for them.

Robbie Lyle was stunned. His exact words:“That was a disgrace by Liverpool fans today who booed him… Not all of them, but the ones that booed him—come on.”

It wasn’t just a throwaway comment either. The issue hit hard with every Gooner watching. Respect for a club legend, born and bred Scouser, was shredded by a few sour fans. And Arsenal supporters—known for their passionate reactions—weren’t shy about expressing their disbelief.

Passion in Nairobi, Class Lost at Anfield

The irony couldn’t be thicker. In Kenya, over a thousand Arsenal fans had gathered. “They were brilliant,” Robbie said. Even at 2-0 down at halftime, they kept singing, believing, supporting. No boos, no betrayals—just unfiltered passion. As one fan put it:“We came all the way to Kenya. We want to see Arsenal put in a good performance, but they stuck with the team.”

Meanwhile, back at Anfield, Trent Alexander-Arnold—Liverpool royalty—was jeered when he came on the pitch. For what? Daring to move on with his career?

“He’s from Liverpool, man. Give the guy a break.”

It’s not often Arsenal fans feel sorry for a Liverpool player, but today was different. There was a line, and it was crossed.

Arsenal Show Fight While Liverpool Fans Turn

Let’s talk about character. Arsenal were 2-0 down and could’ve crumbled. But instead, they came out swinging. “They really stuck with the team,” Robbie said about the Kenyan supporters, adding,“The team fought back and I think it was for these fans here in Kenya.”

Ødegaard, Marquinhos, Ben White—everyone turned it up. Even without Declan Rice or Timber, Arsenal showed grit. But Liverpool’s fans? Not so much.

“I like Liverpool and I like Liverpool fans… but that was unclass,” Robbie admitted.

You could practically see the steam coming out of his ears. And rightly so.

No Excuses for Booing Alexander-Arnold

Look, we get it. Football is emotional. But booing Alexander-Arnold? A player who’s given everything? Who’s from your city? Come on.

Robbie said it best:“You just won the league, and he’s been an integral part of that.”

And when asked if he was surprised, he didn’t hesitate:“I was shocked. You saw my face… he’s a Liverpool boy.”

If Arsenal fans can cross continents to cheer on a comeback and stand by their players in the worst of moments, maybe Anfield could learn a thing or two about loyalty.
