West Ham have lost some serious attacking talent this summer, and they could be set to move for a player from one of their local rivals to start plugging those gaps.

One of the biggest costs that any club faces upon relegation is a talent drain. Most relegated clubs contain at least a few players who are worthy of playing at that higher level and will want to leave in order to keep playing at the highest level that they can.

This has been the case at West Ham United this summer, following their fall from the Premier League. The news that Jarrod Bowen is staying with the club to spearhead their push for a quick return from the Championship is very welcome news for supporters, but no small part of the reason for that delight is that it's relatively rare for such an established player to do so.

Bowen might have pledged his future to West Ham, but he's been the exception to the rule so far this summer. The club have lost a lot of attacking talent already this summer. Crysencio Summerville has left for Saudi Arabia, Mateus Fernandes has gone to Spurs and Callum Wilson to Brentford, while Adama Traore was released by the club at the end of his contract.

There are, therefore, gaps to fill in their first-team squad ahead of the start of the new season, and fresh reporting has suggested that one of their transfer targets could be a winger who hasn't quite achieved at one of their most bitter rivals.

According to Sport 5, West Ham United could be set to make a move for the 27-year-old Israeli international winger Manor Solomon, with the player's agent having spoken out on the likelihood of him leaving The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Solomon signed for Spurs in 2023, but has failed to tie down a first-team squad place over his three years with the North London giants, having spent time on loan since then in the Championship, La Liga and Serie A, with Leeds United, Villareal and Fiorentina.

Israeli publication Sport 5 report that Solomon is keen on the move, with his agent having already publicly confirmed that the player is keen to leave The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They confirm that Solomon would be signed as a direct replacement for Crysencio Summerville.

Solomon has two years left to run on his Spurs contract, so would command a transfer fee, but recent comments from the Spurs head coach indicate that his club are happier at this point for him to leave on a permanent deal rather than through another loan arrangement, with the Spurs head coach Roberto de Zerbi having said with regard to his future that, "that the goal will be a permanent transfer, not a loan.”

Since arriving at Spurs in 2023, Manor Solomon has only managed six appearances for them in all competitions, but one of his loan moves offers an explanation over why West Ham United could be interested in him this summer.

Solomon was still relatively untested in English football when he went on a season-long loan to Leeds United in August 2024. He had the most successful season of his career to date at Elland Road, making 41 appearances in all competitions for them throughout the 2024-25 season, scoring ten goals and recording ten assistants as Leeds won promotion back to the Premier League as winners of the Championship.

His spells on loan since then haven't gone as well. Half a season at Villareal brought just 11 appearances over the first half of 2025-26, though he did record a goal and four assists for the Spanish club, while his move to Fiorentina in the January 2026 transfer window brought more appearances but a smaller return - two goals and two assists in 19 games.

Now 27-years-old, it's clear that Solomon's time with Spurs has not been a success. But he had previously impressed Shakhtar Donetsk and Fulham before going there, and he left Elland Road after one season with his reputation enhanced. Having proved himself in the Championship before, he could fit the profile of player who can help to make West Ham United's stay in that division as brief as possible.
