Agent switch triggers hope of Schmid extending contract with Bremen | OneFootball

Romano Schmid could be on the verge of a contract extension with Werder Bremen, according to sources at Kicker.de.

Kicker reports that the midfield star has returned to his long-time Austrian agent, Thomas Böhm, in the last week.

This supposedly increases Werder's chances of extending Schmid's contract, which is currently set to expire in summer of 2027. 

Schmid previously sought a move to the English Premier League. However, several agents failed to secure him a contract in England.

"We would very much like to extend his contract. Talks with him haven't taken place yet, but we will be seeking them in the coming weeks.

“Romano feels very comfortable in Bremen and is very important to us. I value him highly,” managing director Clemens Fritz recently told Bild.
