Agents ‘Trying To Secure An Offer’ For Celtic Target With Full Price In Mind | OneFootball

The agents of Las Palmas goalkeeper Dinko Horkas are continuing ‘trying to secure an offer’ that values the Celtic target at €10m, which is the price the Spanish side are hoping to achieve.

The 27-year-old has firmly established himself as a standout candidate to take over between the sticks at Parkhead heading into the new campaign, but is still at Las Palmas.

The Scottish champions made their first approach last month to test the water over a move for the Croatian shot-stopper.

Horkas has a release clause worth €30m, but activating that figure is not expected to be necessary, with Las Palmas understood to value the custodian at around the €10m mark.

It had been claimed that Celtic submitted two offers, both of which failed to meet the Spanish outfit’s asking price, though it was later claimed in Spain that the Hoops are yet to place an official bid on the table.

Talks may likely be happening between agents and intermediaries, with numbers being floated for the Croatian goalkeeper.

According to Spanish daily Sport, agents ‘continue to try to secure an offer’ that comes in at the €10m mark Las Palmas want.

Las Palmas are expected to be flexible on the asking price and could take a lower sum, but agents appear to have been instructed to try to achieve the full asking price.

Whether that is a price Celtic are prepared to pay for Horkas is uncertain, but the Bhoys’ need for another quality goalkeeper this summer is clear.

The Hoops have already watched one goalkeeping target slip through their grasp after German shot-stopper Tjark Ernst sealed a move to Feyenoord.

Martin O’Nelil’s side currently have only Viljami Sinisalo and Ross Doohan available as goalkeeping options, leaving reinforcements in that department looking increasingly difficult to ignore.

Celtic are sure to have other irons in the fire with regards to goalkeepers, but the signs continue to point towards the Bhoys rating Las Palmas custodian Horkas highly.
