FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their squad planning for the new season. After the failed transfer of Anthony Gordon, the Munich club have apparently set their sights on a new attacking candidate – and have already taken an important step with Ismael Saibari
Bayern are currently working intensively on signing the Moroccan international from PSV Eindhoven. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, Munich have already reached an agreement in principle with the player’s agent. According to the report, Saibari is keen to make the move to the German record champions
Bayern have thus created a promising starting position in their bid for the 24-year-old. The focus is now on the negotiations with PSV Eindhoven
Following the recent failure to sign Anthony Gordon, Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are still looking to strengthen their attacking options, with Saibari considered particularly interesting as he is flexible and can play in several positions in attack and attacking midfield
According to media reports, Bayern would like to finalize a potential transfer before the start of the World Cup if possible, and the player himself appears to be convinced of a move to Munich
PSV Eindhoven are also said to have been informed that Bayern are working on a deal and, according to the Dutch newspaper Eindhoven Dagblad, initial talks have already taken place between the two clubs

However, the transfer will not be a foregone conclusion, as PSV are in a strong negotiating position due to the player’s long-term contract
According to reports, the Dutch club are looking at a transfer fee of around 60 million euros, a sum that is likely to be closely scrutinized internally at FC Bayern. After all, the Munich club are paying more attention to economic sense this summer and want to avoid costly mistakes
Especially after pulling out of the Anthony Gordon deal, it seems that the team at Säbener Straße is not prepared to pay any price
In sporting terms, Saibari would fit in perfectly with Bayern’s requirements profile. The attacking player was one of PSV Eindhoven’s key performers last season
The Moroccan international contributed a total of 15 goals and eight assists, scoring a strong 23 points. His dynamism, technique and versatility in particular make him interesting for numerous top European clubs
If Bayern and Eindhoven can reach an agreement on the transfer fee, Saibari could become Munich’s next big attacking transfer after Luis Díaz. In any case, the conditions seem to be much better than for Anthony Gordon.
