Agustín Martegani has left Boca Juniors and will join Deportivo Independiente Medellín on a one-year loan, which carries a 1.8 million dollar option to buy, according to Sitiboca.com.ar.

The move comes almost a year and a half after his last appearance for Boca. Since arriving in July 2024, the midfielder featured in only 13 matches.

Boca paid 2.6 million dollars for 80% of his registration after a difficult stint at Salernitana in Italy, but he did not secure a regular place.

The agreement includes a 50,000 dollar loan fee. The change of scene offers Martegani the chance to regain form and minutes.

His prospects faded with Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s appointment, the coach listing him among players not under consideration for the squad. Nicolás Orsini, Ander Herrera and Edinson Cavani have also left, or are in the process of doing so. The move marks a new stage in his career.
