Agustina Barroso has been named in Corinthians' matchday squad for Sunday’s Brasileiro Feminino fixture against Vitória, 11:00 at Canindé, in round 13. It is the 33-year-old defender’s first time available for an official game in 2026.
According to Meu Timao, she was diagnosed in January with a recurrent contracture linked to scarring in the left soleus. The problem kept her out of the trip to England for the Copa das Campeãs, the Women's Club World Cup.
In May she began her physical transition and rejoined team training, but pain returned in the same area, delaying her recovery.
To date the team have played 23 matches this season and she had not been selected in any of them, under Lucas Piccinato or Emily Lima. She is back in contention now.
Corinthians’ centre-back options also include Erika, Thaís Ferreira, Thaís Regina, Letícia Teles and Duda Mineira.
Barroso was signed to help cover the exit of Mariza, a regular in recent seasons who left at the end of 2025 to play in Mexico. This is her second stint at Corinthians, and her deal runs to December 2026.
In 2017 she joined Osasco Audax before the women’s side unified with Timão, played two matches for Corinthians/Audax and won the Copa Libertadores Feminina that year.
Now recovered, she faces the run-in of the first phase of the Brasileiro, plus the Paulista and the Libertadores, competitions in which she could make her first official appearance of the season.
