Ajax confirm Takehiro Tomiyasu signing | OneFootball

Ajax have confirmed the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old Japan international was available as a free agent and has put pen to paper on a deal running until June 2026. Reports in the Netherlands say his medical showed no physical issues, easing any concerns over his fitness.

Arsenal released Tomiyasu at the start of the season after a spell disrupted by injury problems. Despite that, he made 84 appearances across four years in north London, scoring twice and registering six assists. His involvement last season was limited to just one outing due to injury.

Tomiyasu has previous European experience with Bologna and Sint-Truiden, and remains an important figure for Japan, earning 42 caps to date.
