Ajax terminate Branco Van den Boomen’s contract by mutual consent | OneFootball

Ajax have terminated Branco Van den Boomen’s contract by mutual consent, the club said on Friday. The deal had been due to run until 2027.

The Dutch midfielder returned to his boyhood club in summer 2023 on a free transfer after three successful seasons at Toulouse. He was no longer part of the plans.

Across three seasons in his second spell with Ajax, following his academy years between 2011 and 2014, he made 56 appearances.

Last season, the 30-year-old did not play any Eredivisie matches in the first half. He moved to Angers on loan during the winter window and quickly earned a starting role.

Now a free agent, Van den Boomen should not be short of suitors in the transfer market.
