Sevilla are racing to trim their wage bill with only 14 first team registrations in LaLiga, leaving no immediate room for additions. According to Diario de Sevilla, the financial squeeze currently blocks the registration of new signings and even of Akor Adams and Rubén Vargas.
Squad planning now hinges on outgoings to create space for arrivals. The club need to register Jon Guridi, Juan Iglesias, Arouna Sangante and Odysseas Vlachodimos, the latter returning on loan.
They also must re-register Vargas and Akor Adams after using a LaLiga mechanism that allowed annual registration despite longer contracts. The approach was designed to keep flexibility across future seasons.
The priority is to move on the highest earners, notably Tanguy Nianzou and Joan Jordán, while finding exits for Federico Gattoni and Fábio Cardoso. In total, Sevilla still need room to register up to nine further players.
Sevilla are finalising a drastic agreement to end Nianzou’s contract at zero cost. The centre-back, on club leave and currently in France, carries an annual hit with amortisation of €12 million, a figure far beyond the club’s present limits. The aim is to expedite his future and unlock slots for the new arrivals.
Jordán’s case has sparked tension after he was removed from first team training. Representatives for the 31-year-old have taken their grievance to AFE and may file a formal complaint, while the club maintains the decision is lawful on sporting grounds and seeks a swift resolution.
