Sevilla are set to sell Akor Adams to Venezia in Serie A for a fixed 16 million euros, with add-ons potentially taking the fee to 20 million. The move is due to be completed early next week.
El Desmarque reports that the striker has taken part in his final Sevilla training session and will travel to northern Italy for a medical between Monday and Tuesday.
The sale delivers a major boost to Sevilla's summer plans and represents savvy business. Adams cost around 5.5 million a season and a half ago, so the profit could approach 15 million.
Further exits remain possible, with Switzerland internationals Rubén Vargas and Djibril Sow among those on the market, and academy products Juanlu Sánchez, Oso and Kike Salas also attracting interest. Combined, such sales could double or even triple the Adams income.
Sevilla are one of six LaLiga clubs yet to pay a transfer fee this window, alongside RC Celta, Athletic Club, Villarreal CF, Osasuna and Málaga CF. Even so, they have added Jon Guridi, Arouna Sangante and Juan Iglesias on free transfers, and renewed the loan of Odysseas Vlachodimos.
While talks continue over the possible signing of Patrick Mercado, the funds from Adams are set to be directed towards a replacement up front and other priority positions.
