Al Ahly have confirmed Aliou Dieng's departure, clearing the way for Valencia to complete his signing for 2026/27, pending the Spanish club's official announcement. According to Superdeporte, the Malian midfielder would be their second addition after Justin De Haas.
Valencia revived talks in late March to secure a profile that fits Carlos Corberán's midfield needs. At 28 and with international experience, Dieng is expected to add presence and power in the centre.
Al Ahly marked the end of his seven-year spell with brief messages of gratitude and a commemorative shirt. Dieng had been the chosen option in winter and remains the pick now.
In a farewell post, he reflected that the club, its fans and Egypt had been his home for seven years, that he arrived a boy and leaves a man, father and husband, and that wearing the captain's armband was an honour. He expressed pride in records and history made together and offered heartfelt thanks to Mahmoud Elkhateib, Sayed Abdhafiz, the board, team-mates, coaches, staff and supporters.
He now looks to a new challenge, with Valencia on the horizon.
