Despite having been one of the most important players for FC Barcelona since the arrival of Hansi Flick, the forward Raphinha’s future at the Catalan club has been quite uncertain for the last few weeks. As has been the case during the last two summer transfer windows, Saudi clubs are once again keen to sign him, and are trying their best to lure him away from the Blaugrana club.
Al-Hilal have been one club particularly driven to land the Brazilian, and have already communicated to Barcelona its intentions about the player. However, they are currently waiting for a green light from the player to begin negotiations. Raphinha himself seems committed to the Blaugrana club, at least for one more year.
In this context, there have been other developments that have further fanned the Saudis’ hopes of signing the forward, i.e., the signing of Anthony Gordon and the imminent signing of Karim Adeyemi by Barcelona. According to SPORT, with these signings, Al-Hilal are seeing the operation to land Raphinha as more viable.
The winger is currently enjoying his holidays since the elimination of Brazil from the World Cup at the Round of 16 stage. He has been unwilling to listen to proposals from the Saudis, while the Blaugranes are waiting for a meeting with the footballer to clear up his future, which at the moment is not entirely certain.
Barcelona would respect whatever decision Raphinha makes. Flick would love to continue having him under his orders, but would also open the door if he warms up to the idea of leaving for Saudi Arabia. Such an operation would definitely be attractive from a financial point of view, for both the club and the player, as Al-Hilal are open to offering €80 million in transfer fees and a whopping €50 million in yearly wages to the forward.
