Lamine Yamal has been the blue-eyed boy of the FC Barcelona academy in recent seasons. There has not been a bigger talent to emerge from La Masia, and the Spaniard has quickly established himself as one of the best players in the world.
The 18-year-old broke all kinds of records, securing two Kopa Trophies back-to-back, and finished second only to Ousmane Dembele in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings. He is currently out with an injury and hopes to make a swift return to action.
Now, according to Fichajes, Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal has submitted an unprecedented €400 million offer to Barcelona to sign Lamine Yamal. The report adds that Al-Hilal are willing to hand Yamal a seven-year contract and make him one of the faces of their long-term project in Saudi Arabia.
Recent years have seen increasing investment from Saudi clubs in top talents playing in Europe. When Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al-Hilal, it felt as though an avenue had opened for ageing stars to earn big before calling it quits, but even young talents have been lured by the money.

The report mentions that Lamine is unhappy with Hansi Flick’s words about the team’s lack of intensity, but all this feels like smoke without fire. The teenager is one of Barcelona’s most adored players and arguably the star of the team.
This past summer, he put pen to paper on a blockbuster deal and was even handed the No. 10 jersey. He is the Catalan club’s present and future, and there is no reason for him to abandon such a promising project and go in search of money.
This is a transfer that is not going to happen. There is no point speculating about it, and let us hope Lamine can return from injury soon and help FC Barcelona out.
