Al-Hilal surge for Summerville, but Roma remain confident of €50m agreement | OneFootball

Multiple sources claim that Al-Hilal made a last-ditch bid to intercept Roma’s talks with West Ham United for Crysencio Summerville, but the player’s Champions League ambitions could be decisive.

Both Sky Sport Italia and transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano made the report simultaneously this afternoon, suggesting that Al-Hilal had made a proposal to the Premier League club.

Sportitalia are confident that the basic structure of an agreement is in place between Roma and West Ham for €50m including add-ons, so they believe that the Giallorossi are just waiting for the final all-clear from London.

At that point, Summerville should be free to fly out for his medical in the Eternal City.

Although Al-Hilal are undoubtedly offering more both for the transfer fee and in terms of wages, Summerville’s desire to play in the Champions League is giving Roma the advantage here.

Roma are not going to get sucked into a bidding war, so are leaving the decision up to the player.

The 24-year-old impressed at the 2026 World Cup for the Netherlands, and was promised he could leave West Ham this summer for an affordable fee because of their relegation from the Premier League.
