Al Hilal ‘to sound out’ Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis | OneFootball

Glorioso 1904 reports that Al Hilal have shown interest in Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis and have approached his representatives about a possible move to Saudi Arabia in this January window.

The Asian club is assessing whether the Greek international is open to changing leagues before entering any direct talks. As things stand, no direct contact has taken place.

Pavlidis is not thought to be against a switch, although there is a gap between the proposal discussed and the demands from the player and his camp, which could delay any agreement.

The 25-year-old has been one of Benfica’s standout performers and was named the league’s player of the month for December.

This season he has 35 appearances for Benfica, with 18 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 11 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.

Across 2,816 minutes he has scored 24 goals and supplied three assists, and is valued at €35 million.
