Al Wasl suspend duo ahead of Al Nassr quarter-final | OneFootball

Al Wasl have suspended goalkeeper Khalid Al-Senani and Moroccan defender Sofiane Bouftini until further notice, pending internal procedures, days before their AFC Champions League 2 quarter-final.

The UAE side host Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr at Zabeel Stadium on 19 April in the last eight. Al-Riyadiah reports the pair were involved in altercations with fans after the 2-1 defeat to Sharjah last Sunday.

The decision was announced around 12 days before the tie, via the club’s official X account.

Al Wasl are fifth in the UAE Pro League on 39 points, 20 behind leaders Al Ain, with five matches remaining.

The episode adds to the scrutiny on Al Wasl’s run-in as they balance continental ambitions with domestic form.
