Aladji Bamba flies to Newcastle after €41.5m Monaco agreement | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, AS Monaco midfielder Aladji Bamba has been authorised to travel to Newcastle. The clubs have agreed a €41.5m package, including €6m in add-ons, plus a 15% sell-on clause.

The move has developed over the past three weeks and is considered a surprise. With Maghnes Akliouche, Folarin Balogun and Lamine Camara expected to leave, Bamba had looked set for a second senior season in Monaco.

Social media was alight on Thursday morning with claims the France Under-20 international was on a flight to the city. He is due to undergo a medical in the coming hours, with a five-year contract planned.

Bamba, 20, has made 25 competitive appearances for the Principality club.

He has been persuaded by the project outlined by his prospective manager Eddie Howe.
