FC Barcelona coasted past Daegu FC in their third pre-season friendly, securing a comprehensive 5-0 victory to round off their Asian tour.
A brace from Gavi, along with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Toni Fernandez, and Marcus Rashford, proved to be too much for the K-League side to handle.
Everything seemed positive from Hansi Flick’s perspective, but he was handed a late headache as defensive star Pau Cubarsi was taken off in the dying embers of the game.
The Spaniard was seen holding his leg, asking for medical attention. After a few minutes of treatment on the field, the coaching staff chose not to take any risks and replaced him with Hector Fort.
Although it did not look serious even as Cubarsi made his way off the pitch, it was a moment that sent shivers down Barcelona fans’ spines.
Fortunately, according to SPORT, Cubarsi only suffered a knock to his left knee and did not sustain any muscular injury. This comes as a major relief for Barcelona, as such an injury would have been disastrous for Flick, who was visibly distressed and held his head in concern the moment the youngster went down.

Cubarsi is one of the team’s most important players and one of the first names on the team sheet. Everyone will now await the prognosis to see if the injury is serious or not.
Last season, he formed an unbreakable partnership with Inigo Martinez at the back, and even the Spanish veteran has missed the last couple of games with fatigue.
The next few hours should help provide more clarity on the Cubarsi situation. Let’s wait and see how the cookie crumbles.
